Understanding Company Accounts

    This is a highly participative 2 day programme featuring, case studies, exercises and syndicate work. It is aimed at staff who need to be able to take a set of accounts and understand the story behind them. The course will cover accounting jargon and the real meaning of financial statements. We will cover ratios and measures such as, gearing, EBIT and EBITDA. The course combines basic accounting principles with financial analysis skills. It is designed for those with no previous accounting experience.

    Cash Flow Statements

    • How to read them

    Session 2:

    Using Ratios to help you understand:

    • Key Investor measures

    • Concepts of relative and absolute measurement

    • Profitability

    • Liquidity

    Session 3:

    Review of Accounting Standards

    • Discussing the impact on the balance sheet of the recent new accounting standards
